Christopher Miller is the executive chef and owner of Miller’s Near & Far, where he brings his eclectic New York-‐inspired menu to the Lower East Side.
Miller and Matt Abramcyk, a fellow restaurateur, opened Smith & Mill’s, which was followed by Warren 77, and Tiny's & The Bar Upstairs. The restaurants, all located in TriBeCa, were met with critical acclaim and received a loyal following.
In 2013, Miller opened his first solo restaurant, Miller’s Near & Far on the Lower East Side. He tapped into his arsenal of culinary experiences gathered growing up in New York City as inspiration for the menu. The city’s diverse culinary landscape inspires dishes such as Liver & onion (Katz’s Deli);Sichuan Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings (Chinatown); and Brocolini Ricotta Cavatelli (Little Italy).
In addition to designing the menu, Miller also utilized his background in art to design the restaurant. The space mimics the layout of a classic boxcar diner with bar seating and an open kitchen. He designed overhead LED lights that produce an illusion of increased ceiling heights and television screens that broadcast bathroom-goers’ reflections instead of a conventional mirror.
When Miller is not in the kitchen, he enjoys traveling, tinkering, dining out and adding to his unique and ever-‐growing collections of globes, oil cans and other miscellaneous antiques.
Miller's Near & Far is a New American restaurant on the Lower East Side of Manhattan that uses high quality, responsibly sourced, seasonal ingredients.
Miller's Near & Far proudly serves Meat Hook and Pat LaFrieda meat, Green Market produce, Blue Bottle Coffee and Serendipitea Tea.
